Founding
In 1880 (Meiji 13), Tsu Junior High School was established on the site of the former Tsu Domain school, "Yuzokan".
History
Tsu High School: A school of "independence and self-reliance" cultivated over 146 years of tradition.
Boasting a rich 145-year history, our school was founded in 1880 as Tsu Junior High School on the grounds of the former domain school, Yuzokan. Today, over 40,000 of our alumni are active in various fields both domestically and internationally.
Since its founding, our school has valued "independence and self-reliance" as its motto. It is always filled with a fresh, vibrant atmosphere that respects the individuality, characteristics, thoughts, and actions of every student. | 1901 | Mie Prefectural Girls' High School opens(renamed Mie Prefectural Tsu Girls' High School in 1922). |
| 1948 | Tsu Junior High School and Tsu Girls' High School merged to form Mie Prefectural Tsu High School, a co-educational school. |
| 1951 | School emblem and school flag established |
| 1953 | School song establishedBaseball team wins Sanki Tournament and advances to Koshien Tournament |
| 1955 | Renamed Mie Prefectural Tsu High School |
| 1960 | Archery club wins national championship |
| 1974 | The comprehensive selection system was introduced, placing students in the second group. |
| 1995 | Abolition of the comprehensive selection system and introduction of a two-semester system. |
| 1996 | Overseas training program in Malaysia begins. |
| 2000 | 120th Anniversary Commemorative Ceremony Held |
| 2001 | Use of "syllabus" and implementation of a typographical system. |
| 2002 | 65-minute classes were implemented. |
| 2003 | Frontier High School Academic Improvement Project (3 years until FY2005): World Astronaut Congress Community Day held at Tsu High School |
| 2005 | New science building constructed, 125th anniversary of the school's founding |
| 2006 | Japan-China 21st Century Exchange Program: Welcome of the First Group of Chinese High School Students Visiting China |
| 2007 | Designated as a Super Science High School (SSH) by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. |
| 2009 | Training facility completed |
| 2010 | A ceremony was held to commemorate the 130th anniversary of the founding. |
| 2013 | The school was redesignated as a Super Science High School (SSH) by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. |
| 2018 | The school received its third designation as a Super Science High School (SSH) from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. |
| 2021 | A ceremony was held to commemorate the 140th anniversary of the founding. |
| 2022 | Established a sister-school partnership with Kaohsiung Municipal ChungShan Senior High School in Taiwan. |
| 2023 | The school received its fourth designation as a Super Science High School (SSH) from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. |
| 2026 | Mie Prefecture is the first to introduce a credit-based system for higher education.60-minute classes and office hours will be implemented. |
